Gigabyte overclocks Intel Core i9-11900K to 7314 MHz, setting several world records
Gigabyte sets new world record for overclocking flagship Intel Core i9-11900K Rocket Lake-S processor using latest Z590 Aorus Tachyon motherboard. For extreme overclocking of the chip, liquid nitrogen was used as a cooler. As a result of the experiment, the processor was overclocked to an impressive 7314 MHz.
Along the way, new performance records were set in the Super Pi 1M and Super Pi 32M tests, according to the manufacturer’s press release.
Efficiency and stable overclocking of Intel Core i9-11900K was provided by a reinforced 13-phase power subsystem of the motherboard, built according to the 12 + 1 scheme. Each of its phases is capable of withstanding amperage up to 100 A. The power subsystem uses a matrix of tantalum capacitors, providing lower temperatures and a stable overclocking level.
In addition to overclocking capabilities, the Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Tachyon is ready to offer a 2.5-Gigabit network interface, support for wireless standards WI-FI 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as QFLASH and Clear CMOS functions that make it easy to update BIOS and reset to factory defaults if necessary.
The board also includes four PCIe x16 slots, eight SATA III connectors, three M.2 for NVMe drives and many USB ports.
